about

Hello, my name is Ayesha Ghanchi, I think about, write about, and practice critical pedagogy. Much of my work in past decade examines the continuing impact of colonialism and coloniality in the every day. A lot of what I do is facilitate discussion using dialogue, play, and experimentation with materials to examine how power and privilige show up and strategise on what we can do. I am concerned with how we can build community and root ourselves in agency whilst the death machine of capitalism breaks down everything we know as sacred. I bring my thinking to my work as an writer, artist educator, community mover and shaker, sometimes lecturer and sometimes yoga teacher. I completed my PhD at the Department of Education at Goldsmiths in 2016. My PhD examined Artist Education practices at Tate, through the lens of critical pedagogy philosophy and practices from 1969-2015.
